JCPenney Day of Giving Back
The JCPenney Day of Giving Back is a new, nationwide campaign created by JCPenney to help raise funds to support local afterschool programs.
From September 14-28, customers visiting JCPenney stores across the nation will have an opportunity to assist at-risk children in their local community by purchasing a $5 coupon good for 20% off* almost all store, jcp.com and catalog purchases made on Sunday, September 28. And, best of all, the JCPenney Afterschool Fund will donate the $5 to support a local afterschool program in your community! Shopping while helping others...it's a winning combination! *10 or 15% discount on certain purchases; Some exclusions apply. See coupon for details.
Customers can give back to their communities by once again participating in the JCPenney Afterschool Round-up program. Customers have the opportunity to “round-up” their JCPenney purchases to the nearest whole dollar and donate the difference to the JCPenney Afterschool Fund. The JCPenney Afterschool Fund, in turn, will donate the store’s Round-Up collections to a local afterschool program in each store’s community. So far, the 2008 Round-Up programs have raised over $1.8 million for local afterschool programs across the nation. The JCPenney Afterschool Fund matched $1 million of those collections, resulting in a grand total of over $2.8 million contributed to afterschool programs in our store communities. The last Round-Up of the year will take place December 5-14, just in time for the holidays. Pennies truly do add up to millions of dollars for kids in need, so be sure to round-up your purchases when you shop at JCPenney December 5-14!
